HISTORY & BACKGROUND
Golf Etc. of America was founded in 1992 with the
dream and objective of becoming an international golf consulting
and construction company. The strategy changed to that of franchising
comprehensive golf retail shops in 1996.
Golf Etc. of America currently has 70 operating franchises within the continental United States and
Hawaii.
The reason for the unprecedented growth is simple.
Our strategy is working; business owners are creating value in their
local and regional markets and realizing positive cash flow and
profits. The Golf Etc. strategy is new and unique. Our owners are
capitalizing on the growth in technology, with emphasis on personal
service, and consultation. The revenue is divided strategically

THE FUTURE OF GOLF
Golf
has grown faster than motion pictures, financial services, hotels,
and communications, all of which generally are thought to be the
fastest growing industries. Only amusement and recreation in general
have grown somewhat faster than golf in terms of revenues. Golf
has been experiencing uniquely strong growth in both interest and
in spending over the last decade and compares very favorably with
other industries.
Overall growth in the industry over the past 11
years, which is estimated to be 7.5% CAGR (compound annual growth
rate) – as measured by spending on equipment, fees, and apparel
– has come from a mix of favorable population trends, increasing
participation, and increased spending per golfer. With most of the
non-inflationary increase due to real increases in spending, the
industry was able to get consumers to increase their spending velocity
or frequency of purchase. This implies that equipment technology
and better marketing have shortened the purchase cycle of golf equipment.

GOLF ETC.®
offers its franchise owners an extensive custom designed training
program. Our intense training program instructs the operational
and technical staff for one week. The operational segment of our
training program will provide instruction on such topics as operations,
inventory control, and merchandise pricing for retail sales.
Our
in-depth technical training will provide information on the correct
techniques for repairing woods, and irons, custom club fittings,
and custom club construction. You will also learn computerized shaft
analysis, using the True Temper Shaft Lab and the Golf Achiever.
It is our intent

a success, and we believe that our unique training program does

YOUR OWN SHOP
You
will own your own shop and merchandise items popular in your area
while buying straight from the manufacturer. There are no quotas
or limits on merchandise and you have the use of trade names, marketing
expertise, distinctive business appearance, and support from GOLF
ETC.
PRE-OPENING
Golf Etc. has
retained a national firm to assist you in your site selection. Marketing
survey and assisting with lease negotiations, can be handled by
you, or with help from GOLF ETC. Store designs, fixtures, opening
merchandise, and setup, are services we provide that leaves you
more time to plan for your new future.
TRAINING
There is no
reason to be concerned if you are inexperienced about club repair,
or you don't recognize the difference of materials in one club to
another. We will answer all of your questions, and train you in
all aspects for the golf business. We will help you build your custom
clubs for your shop prior to opening day. You will be trained in
product knowledge, inventory control, merchandising, store operations,
club repair, club fitting, and the salesmanship of golf equipment.
